If you’re a senior, then you’ve probably already been asked this question a thousand different times in a thousand different ways: so, what are you doing after graduation?
I’d like to go ahead and get my answer in writing so I can just refer people to this blog instead of reciting my canned response for every person who thinks they have the immediate right to know my life plans.
I’m proud to say I’ve received the Chuck Stone Citizen of the World Award from the UNC School of Media and Journalism. This award will enable me to shoot a documentary this summer on culturally significant wine growing regions in Europe – specifically La Rioja, Spain; Duoro Valley, Portugal; and Hvar, Croatia.
I’ll be backpacking around mid-June to mid-August, hitting England – Germany – Spain – Portugal – Morocco – Tunisia – Malta – Turkey – Croatia – Austria. Hit me up if you want to hang or have people I should connect with!
After that I will be driving cross country to visit friends west coast.
From there (or more likely L.A.), I will be flying to New Zealand – my new home for the foreseeable future! I’ll hopefully be getting production gigs while working at a wine bar / on a vineyard.
There it is. The future is scary and exciting and here. I hope to continue blogging to share this adventure with you all who want to witness my traipse around the world.
Cheers to hoping I don’t get taken!
